The Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) is a globally recognised centre of excellence in metal forming research, manufacturing technologies and innovation. We’re at the heart of Scotland’s manufacturing research and development sector, and just 34 miles from Prestwick Aerospace campus.
High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult
In 2011 the UK Government set up the HVM Catapult to act as the catalyst for growth and success of UK advanced manufacturing; aiming to turn ideas into commercial reality, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The AFRC is one of seven catapult centres across the UK, the only one in Scotland. The centres offer businesses of all sizes and from all sectors access to world-class equipment, expertise and collaborative working opportunities.
