The Boeing Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) in Prestwick is a 90,000 sq. ft. open‑access research and development facility designed to support innovation across Scotland’s aerospace and advanced‑manufacturing sectors. The centre provides industry, academia and supply‑chain partners with access to state‑of‑the‑art equipment, including large‑scale composite manufacturing areas, digital‑production technologies and specialist materials laboratories.
The AIC focuses on developing and demonstrating new approaches in advanced materials, automated manufacturing, digital engineering and sustainable production. Its open‑access model enables companies of all sizes to collaborate on technology development, process improvement and capability uplift, strengthening the wider aerospace ecosystem in the region. The centre also supports skills development and knowledge transfer, helping accelerate the adoption of next‑generation manufacturing technologies across Scotland’s aerospace supply chain
